How quickly will you get to me when I have broken down?

We aim to get to you within 40 minutes. We will give you priority if you are in a vulnerable position and with over 2000 patrols on the road you can be sure we will never be far away.

Will you be able to fix my vehicle at the roadside?

In four out of five breakdowns we are able to fix the vehicle at the roadside. (This excludes accidents and extreme failures). As standard, if we can't fix your vehicle at the roadside we will tow your vehicle to a nearby garage for you and up to seven passengers. If you take out Rescue and Recovery, Rescue Recovery and At Home or Rescue, Recovery, At Home and Onward Travel we will take you and your vehicle and up to seven passengers to any destination.

What happens if my vehicle won’t start at home?

If you have taken our At Home breakdown cover we will come to your home to fix your vehicle.

If you take my vehicle to a garage will you take me home?

Should you need to leave your vehicle at a garage we will reimburse you your taxi fares to take you to a single destination up to 20 miles. If you have Rescue and Recovery we will transport you and up to seven passengers to your chosen single destination. You must keep a receipt of your taxi fare.

Can I buy breakdown cover with my car insurance?

Yes you can buy UK vehicle based breakdown cover with your car insurance policy. However you can choose from vehicle cover, personal cover or joint cover options as a standalone breakdown policy

Do you offer European cover?

You can either buy European cover as part of our standalone breakdown policy or you can purchase European protection with our car insurance as long as foreign use cover has been selected.

How many callouts can I have?

Your callout entitlement depends on the cover option which you select.

A key benefit of our standalone breakdown cover is that if you don't call us out we'll reward you with a discount of up to 40% at renewal!

Would I be covered if I was getting a lift in someone else’s vehicle?

If you select personal breakdown cover within our standalone breakdown policy, you are covered for breakdowns in any vehicle whether you are the driver or the passenger (Non-commercial vehicles only, excluding certain vehicle types). Another member of your household can also enjoy the same peace of mind if you select Joint Personal breakdown cover.

Can I get instant cover?

Your breakdown cover starts as soon as we have processed your payment and we have issued you with a policy number.

You will only receive roadside assistance cover for the first 24 hrs after taking out the policy. You will be charged a fee of no less than £75 plus VAT for any additional services you require during this first 24 hrs such as Recovery, Home start or Onward travel benefits.
