Underwriting this policy

When you’re looking after your employees you probably don’t want to spend valuable time filling out forms or going through time-consuming underwriting processes. This is why we do everything we can to minimise disruption to your business, such as offering a free cover limit of up to £150,000. Under this level, there's no need for individual medical underwriting. We’ll also take a 'once only' approach to medical underwriting, meaning that in the majority of cases, future increases in benefit won't be subject to further underwriting.
Should any of your employees require medical underwriting then we’ll try to make the underwriting process as stress-free and as quick as possible:
- Efficiency. We use specialist staff who are trained in communication skills and equipped with medical knowledge to capture essential information in telephone interviews. By using the confidential tele-interview technique, employees don't have to complete any forms, which helps puts them at ease.
- Flexibility. If your employees prefer not to have a tele-interview we can use a medical declaration to capture information about their work, health, lifestyle and medical history; which helps to make medical underwriting decisions faster.
- Accountability. We provide a prompt, clear and accountable underwriting service, which is designed to create minimum disruption for your business.
- Practicality. We’ll give your employees cover from day one and will provide up to 90 days temporary cover during the underwriting process, excluding pre-existing conditions.
