Ridiculous delays

My wife backed out of our drive into the neighbour's car -- in the first week of November '14. Here it is 6-7 weeks later and we still have not had contact with a repair garage to fix the damange to our car despite at least 5 calls to Aviva. Each time Aviva have blamed the repair garage and told us to call them, while the garage have blamed Aviva and told us to phone Aviva. As of yesterday Aviva have finally cancelled the repair with the original garage with the promise that the replacement garage would call within 24 hours. It did not happen. Aviva were not the cheapest insurer by far, but I went with them on strength of their reputation. I am disappointed that Aviva have not lived up to my expectations and not sure I could recommend them to friends and family. I am grateful that our car is damaged but is still drive-able, because if we needed a courtesy/replacement car (which we paid for) I am not sure Aviva would have come through!

Exceptional customer service

Just by chance I viewed the Aviva website. My current car insurance was coming up for renewal, our daughter suggested I should look around, as I usually renewed my car insurance cover with my existing company. I was pleasantly surprised when I spoke with Aviva customer services. The staff member was very knowledgeable and constantly asked whether her explanation was clear. I did not feel hurried and when I received the quote, which was a lot less than I was quoted from my existing insurer. I was truly amazed! Included in the quote is breakdown service, comprehensive cover and home start.
