There is a range of ways in which our employees support our local communities.

Donating

Aviva makes it easy for employees to donate to their favourite charities through the payroll giving and pennies from heaven schemes.

Payroll giving is a tax-efficient means of donating money regularly to charity. It allows each employee to choose the amount they would like to be deducted from their salary each month for their chosen charity or charities.

The nationwide 'Pennies from Heaven' scheme allows employees to round down their monthly salary to the nearest pound to help make a difference to our four key charity partners.

Fundraising

In response to feedback from employees, we have stopped selecting a Staff Charity of the Year and have instead established a '£Plus' matching scheme. This gives employees the opportunity to raise funds for any registered charity in which they are interested and to receive matched funds from the company in support.

Volunteering

Our people supporting the community

Aviva is using a new framework to guide employee volunteering throughout the UK. This gives local offices the flexibility to decide where to focus their volunteering effort, as long as the activity supports one (or more) of the company's four business themes: Environment, Road Safety, Health, and Financial Education.

Aviva is making it easier than ever before for employees to engage with local communities by offering paid leave for recognised volunteering programs. Full-time employees can volunteer for up to three days a year (or the equivalent amount of time in hours over the course of the year). Part-time employees will be offered a pro-rata period.
