Customer reviews consist of an overall rating out of five and provide feedback on the experience of buying a policy and making a claim with us. Customers also have the option to provide a rating out of five on additional aspects of their experience. After buying a policy, customers are able rate us on value for money, ease of purchase, policy features and benefits and customer experience. After making a claim, customers are invited to rate us on ease of claim process, speed of resolution, fairness and customer experience.

completely disjointed service

oh dear, where do i start? well the initial 'we have received your claim info' email was sent routinely and promptly and that's about all that was good. An assessor was supposed to call within 2 working days and after a week has passed we tried to contact aviva but it was after work hours and they said that we needed to call in the day. Neither me or my husband have mobiles or access to a work phone in the day so this was impossible. Finally they put us through to the out of hours claims team who made a decision about our car there and then over the phone. The salvage company was on our back to pick up the car even before we had been given a settlement figure. Once we had agreed the settlement it took another week for the cheque to arrive. All in all we had to do ALL the chasing to get this sorted and at the end of the day this is what we pay our insurance for so. The departments clearly do not speak to each other and were giving conflicting information. Not customer friendly at all.

I'm sorry to see that you have been unhappy with the way that your claim has been handled. This is not the usual high level of service that we provide our customers. I am currently liaising with our claims team to investigate why it had taken so long and why you had to chase the claim. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback.

Claim review

Excellent customer service

I recently had a accident with my car, after reporting the accident at 7-45 pm I was told someone would be in touch before a certain time the next day, this was exactly what happened, It was arranged for my car to be picked up at an arranged time and a courtesy car would be delivered to my door, everything happened at the time arranged, all the way through the claim. My car was returned to me after less than 2weeks in pristine condition, I am a very satisfied customer and have just renewed with Aviva for the next year.

If you want quality car insurance

I had been with my previous car insurer for 10 years ,with no claims but each my premium went up only to be reduced when queried. I went online with Aviva, it was easy, quick to complete the form and transparent. Sent off my documentation in support of my no claims history and confirmation received in 4 days. Would highly recommend

Pleasantly Surprised

Thankfully, never having made a motor insurance claim before ( but having read of some terrible experiences ) approached the situation with trepidation. Quite simply - absolutely no problems. Filled online form, providing both photographs and map of site. Reply within 12 hours and approval within 24 hours - and that I consider to be first class. Though it has to be said there was no third party damage nor contra claim by third parties so obviously the claim was straightforward.

Stressfree service

Efficient, quick and friendly considering the stress I was under at losing the car. After the car was declared a write off I received the pay out very soon after. Hardest part was finding a replacement car! Renewed the car insurance with them as very happy with their service.
