Left out of pocket on a none fault claim :-( better to go through a broker in future

Not happy

I had a accident where someone reversed into me whilst I was stationary and despite having a independent witness and also getting the other person to say he would pay written on paper , I thought everything would be sorted,and yes the car was repaired quickly and to a good standard. The problem arose when I went to re-insure my bike and have found my premium had nearly doubled because of a accident that was not my fault and I thought I had covered all areas with my witness etc. On contacting Aviva I have been told that it will take up to 7 months to sort out and I had to pay the inflated premium to stay legal , I am now wandering how much my actual car insurance will rise , it makes you wander if the extra money you p[ay for legal cover is worth it as my bike insurance premium hike has cost me more than I paid for legal cover with no chance of getting it back I wont bother next time its not worth paying

Claim review

couldn't fault sevice

After calling Aviva and establishing fault, a date was set to pick up my car for repair and a hire car provided with pick up to collect it. All went smoothly. Repairs were completed swiftly and had my car back within the week. Highly recommend Aviva for service.

two car family

Having just brought another car for my wife i was surprised to find that the insurance company i was with wanted to sell me two separate policy's which was very expensive they did not do a duel car policy after talking to a Aviva consultant who talked me through every aspect of the policy including mirroring my no claims to my wife's policy which saved a fortune compared to my original policy he also saved me money on my breakdown cover which was about to be renewed i cannot stress how efficient this company is

Claim review

Mindless vandalism

All four doors of my car were badly sratched whilst parked in a public car park. The calm voice of the Aviva agent was very much appreciated. Within three days (my choice) my car was collected from my home and a replacement car delivered. Two days later my car was returned to me in pristine condition. Excellent service.

Six Weeks and still waiting.....

The experience started off brilliantly - the calim process was easy - and we were given all the contact names and numbers, and told our car would be collected the following morning, and a loan car would be provided at the same time. Sadly it started to go down hill from there - we were called by the garage to say they didn't have a loan car for us, as priority given to those whose cars were not driveable - cannot collect car for another 3 days. Called Aviva but nothing they could do, car would be collected in 3 days time. 3 days later no one came - called garage they said waiting for confirmation from Aviva - car will not be ready before Xmas even if they collected it the following day.My car was finally collected on the 9/01/14 the loan car was manual -not auto as requested and was delivered in the dark and dirty - which the driver did record on del note.After several calls i was told car would be ready 20/01/14 - have been told today 21/01/14 not ready - maybe tomorrow - 5* ? NO
