Customer reviews consist of an overall rating out of five and provide feedback on the experience of buying a policy and making a claim with us. Customers also have the option to provide a rating out of five on additional aspects of their experience. After buying a policy, customers are able rate us on value for money, ease of purchase, policy features and benefits and customer experience. After making a claim, customers are invited to rate us on ease of claim process, speed of resolution, fairness and customer experience.

Buyer review

Good value policy

All the people I spoke to were professional, friendly and helpful.The online proposal could have been easier but with friendly agents to help over the phone this problem was minimised. . I disliked the non-approved repairer excess and the use of 0844 contact numbers. Overall I was very happy with the service and expect to be pleased I moved to Aviva.

Online account email address is no longer valid, not happy after we did what we were advised to do by Aviva staff. So no online account anymore.

Having online account for both motor policies for a long time, we found ourselves last year with a short period where we no longer needed motor insurance. I had a company car & my husband a years free with a new car. When we cancelled we said we would like to come back so were told to keep our online account open. So when we needed to get insurance for my vehicle we renewed the policy via our online account. The full fee was paid ten days before the policy was due to start. When the documents failed to appear we called to be told they would come the day the policy went live. They failed to, so we called again to be told that the online account we have is no longer valid as the email address has already been used, an although the email account is in my husbands name he is no longer able to discuss my account even if I give permission, they will not allow this without talking to me, no help if I am away from home as I often am. So we no longer have an online account and have to pay more.

Excellent Motor Insurance

I found the process of obtaining a car insurance on Aviva's site easy and all the necessary information was clearly set out. The price was very competitive. The policy was delivered efficiently and the process of making a claim was made very simple. I would thoroughly recommend Aviva for car insurance

Best available

Shopped around quite extensively and Aviva came out top re Price and Policy content. Internet based policy so no documents and thats a little alien to me . Time will tell wether policy is as good as i appear to think it is - downside is to fully experience the quality a claim would have to be made so i hope not to experience such.

The easy way to get a good insurance policy

I dialled a No, and in no time I was directed to the right person. Clear explanations, patient and giving sensible good advice going by my long experience of having a car insured. No pushing me to choose all the options but just what I needed. All this giving me the necessary time to pick the options I wanted and understanding them. I got the help and advice to choose the best policy for my needs.

Claim review

Tedious Christmas

You would have thought it was a straight forward claim when your vehicle is parked and gets driven into by 3 week old vehicle. However it was a hire van so the computers did not know whether it was insured. The driver saw it as the hire companies problem and took almost a month to submit an incident report. I wasted hours trying to minimise cost incurred by this disruption but the insurance companies were not interested. I ended up submitting invoices to the legal cover firm which according to the published charges is likely to add very significantly to the total costs incurred.
