Customer reviews consist of an overall rating out of five and provide feedback on the experience of buying a policy and making a claim with us. After buying a policy, customers are able rate us on value for money, ease of purchase, policy features and benefits and customer experience. After making a claim, customers are invited to rate us on ease of claim process, speed of resolution, fairness and customer experience.

Claim review

Its only when you need them that a good insurer shines

When I was involved in a Motor Accident that was not my fault (The other driver did not stop at a junction and collided with the rear side of my car) I took details and photos, and rang Aviva. The operative was sympathetic and after hearing the details waived my excess and sorted the hire car the repairs to my car . the car has now been returned to the condition it was prior to the accident. I am very pleased with the service offered by Aviva and would recommend them wholeheartedly.

Cheap but no paper documents sent :(

Would have happily paid an extra pound or two for paper but this seems to be an entirely online product. :-(

Claim review

Vehicle damage claim

I bumped a pillar in a car park accidentally. It took one call from Aviva on a Saturday morning to set up the claim and appoint a local repairer. Initially I waited for a call but on asking Aviva I contacted the repairer to arrange a book-in and the whole process took about 2.5 weeks from bump to collection. I had no claims protection and an excess of £350 to pay. The repairer had a courtesy car for me to drive during the repair. A quality job all round by Kynaston Auto Repair and well managed by Aviva.. The repairers were paid directly by the insurers.

Great support and fast payment. They did forget to collect car until reminded, but reacted immediately when told. I would recommend Aviva to anyone.

speed up response time

The initial claim took 3 calls of over 25 minutes and a failed attempt at the online submission to register my claim and this is reason for 3 star rating. After that, very easy and a good experience with the claims handler. Garage contacted me within 24 hours and were flexible on collection date and where to collect my vehicle.

Claim review

Poor costumer service

After I made the claim on-line from the customer service said that the third part wasn't insured and I don't need to pay the excess, after 1 day I receive an e-mail and they said that I need to pay the excess. Now I start an investigation and I hope we will recover my money back from excess.

Thanks for your feedback. It can be the case that you need to pay your excess to have the vehicle repaired but then claim it back if you're determined not at fault. This will be handled by the claims department that are aware of your feedback and will look into this for you.
