Purchasing Home Insurance

Both Buildings and contents insurance needed renewing as a customer with AVIVA for car insurance did a comparison check found they were cheaper as I had 20 per cent discount and vouchers for marks and spencer. It was very quick to complete the application and cover started immediately all at a very reasonable price. Would recomend Aviva to friends and colleagues.

Stick with it

Our antique gateway arch was damaged by a careless truck driver who drove off afterwards. Luckily it was recorded on CCTV. After tracking him down he admitted it but his employers, a uk traffic management company refused to admit liability despite the evidence and admission by the driver. Aviva were great. After an initial problem where they confused our insured addresses and sent out the assessor to our holiday home (resulting in a claim being registered to both our addresses ), the assessor came out and was very professional. Contractors were appointed and after a few months the repairs were completed. In the subsequent months the third party refused to pay up but after legal intervention they settled in full. I did lose my no claims for the year it took and had to go elsewhere for insurance as Aviva became too expensive but I'm hoping to return this year at renewal time. I didn't get all of my excess back on the settlement but I did get half of it which wasn't bad. Great job!

good service

Overall I was pleased with the service provided...however had to make numerous amount of calls and made a huge bill. Items werent paid for in full as we did not have receipts (bit unfair as they were furnisher items we bought with the house). A fitted wardrobe still hasnt been dealt with...and we were burgled over 5 months ago. Very long winded process, its the last thing you need after being burgled.

Quick and easy claim

Great experience of making a claim. No round-about treatment... just a simple online form... and then they contacted me.... a few days later it was all resolved. Thanks!

Great service but still waiting...

Great product with options to 'bolt on' benefits to a basic package. The on-line service is easy and efficient to use. It is clear and offers useful information boxes should you not be clear on the meaning of something. I was tempted to consider this product through e-mail advertising which stated 30 pounds of M&S vouchers would be sent. These have not been received yet. This maybe because my policy is due to start on the 1st Nov or maybe not? Overall... one happy customer eagerly awaiting her M&S vouchers in time for Christmas!
