Your home is far beyond a two up, two down - and that's why you need home insurance that covers more.
Your insurance broker will be able to show you that that is exactly what we offer. Like cover that protects your possessions all over the world, including anything new purchased along the way. And far more substantial cover for your art and antiques to ensure you have the right protection. All this is why we've created a policy tailored for people like you.
Your insurance broker can also advise you on the right product for you.
Home Distinct from Aviva comes with a dedicated claims team - available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and in most cases they will sort out the problem over the phone, so there's no need to fill in a form. An incident manager will immediately take charge and handle your claim from start to finish. We will keep you (or your insurance broker if you prefer) regularly updated on the progress of any claim.
Distinct includes specialist services like jewellers, Mappin & Webb, who can record details of a particular piece, so in the event of a loss, they can create an exact replica, arrange a replacement or specialist repair and even arrange a cash settlement if required.
If you temporarily take contents from your home elsewhere they're covered - wherever they are. It's as simple as that.
If you make a major new purchase, like a work of art or an antique, it'll be covered automatically for up to 45 days (for up to 15% of the contents sum insured).
Identity fraud is on the increase and the cost of sorting out the consequences can be substantial. Distinct offers peace of mind here too, with up to £50,000 of insurance cover.
Personal lawyer cover of £100,000 is included as standard
If your garden is damaged by trespassers, we will pay the cost of re-landscaping the garden, removing litter, repairing gates and fences up to £25,000.
As a Home Distinct from Aviva Policyholder you'll also benefit from much more than just leading insurance cover. From valuations to home security visits, policies come complete with a range of additional benefits.
We have negotiated special discounted fees for Home Distinct from Aviva policyholders for the services of Quastel Associates and BCH Authentica. Both are independent, professionally accredited companies whose valuations are carried out by professionally qualified staff.
Quastel Associates, a member of the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers - specialise in valuing antiques, works of art, jewellery and general contents. Valuations are available for any number of items from a single picture to entire house contents, including a detailed inventory and digital photographs of specialised items if required. You can then be fully confident of having a realistic view of the value of all your possessions. Your insurance broker will then advise you on the appropriate level of cover to meet your needs.
In our experience, listed properties and high valued homes can often be dramatically underinsured. To safeguard your home fully and for your own peace of mind we have arranged preferential fees with BCH Authentica - professional valuers specialising in providing risk management services for high net worth and listed properties.
BCH Authentica will provide you with an accurate re-building measurement and valuation of your home, reflecting the age and status of your home and all its distinguishing features. Following their survey, you will receive a re-building valuation and a photographic record of your home. Your insurance broker will then advise you on the appropriate level of cover to meet your needs.
We have a risk helpline you will be able to call for advice on security, fire prevention, health and safety and environmental issues. You will also be able to request a complimentary home security visit for a complete review of your property.
We can also put you in touch with a range of other approved and vetted providers including suppliers of house sitting services and security devices. Your insurance broker will be able to provide full details of all the services on offer.
