Equity Release

Why Aviva?

When thinking about taking a big step such as releasing equity from your home, you naturally want to consult people who can offer you good advice.

  • We have been in the equity release market for over 13 years.
  • At Aviva we have helped over 120,000 people release over £3 billion from their homes.
  • Aviva is a long-standing member of Equity Release Council, formerly known as SHIP, a trade body set up in 1991 to help protect people taking out equity release.

Get advice you can trust

At Aviva we have specialist advisers who can visit you in your own home or at a time and place that's convenient for you to talk through any questions you may have.

You'll be under no pressure whatsoever and you can be assured that our advisers will only ever make a recommendation that suits your circumstances. If your adviser thinks another option would suit you better, he or she will tell you so without hesitation. We can only advise on our own products.

This is a lifetime mortgage. To understand the features and risks, ask for a personalised illustration.

No obligation appointment

We provide a two stage appointment process. In the first meeting your adviser will review your needs and understand what you want from your retirement. During the second meeting your adviser will make a recommendation as to whether a lifetime mortgage is right for you or not based on your circumstances. If it is, they'll let you know the best product for you, how much you can release and the costs involved. They'll also explain how it will reduce the inheritance you can leave and let you know if there will be any impact on your tax position or entitlement to welfare benefits.

All our advisers are fully qualified to advise on and sell a range of Aviva products, including pensions, annuities, life insurance and investments. This not only means that they can help you with retirement planning with a lifetime mortgage, but can also discuss other options with you.
