If the policy was taken out with a company that is now part of Aviva we may be able to help you.

Aviva is made up of a number of other past companies.

If your policy was taken out with a company that is not in this list, please check on Policy Detective or the Association of British Insurers to see who administers it today.

We can't:

  • deal with motor or home insurance. If you are trying to locate either a motor or home insurance policy please visit our contact us page.
  • deal with general enquiries on existing policies. If you have an enquiry on your existing policy or you know your policy number please call 08000 68 68 00.

We can:

  • help you trace a lost life, pension or investment policy.

How long does the search take?

Although we endeavour to respond to all queries within one or two weeks, due to the complex size and history of Aviva some searches can take up to six weeks. We will respond to all queries within this six-week period with at least an acknowledgement if we require more time.

Searching for a policy on behalf of somebody else?

If you are searching for a policy that belongs to someone else (for example if they have died or you act on their behalf) we may need proof that you have the right to do so. We'll let you know what documents we need when we start the search process.
