Underwriting this policy
No one wants to spend valuable time filling out forms or repeating an underwriting process, particularly if you’re a business that’s dealing with 250 or more employees. So we've created an underwriting process that we think you’ll appreciate. For example, we offer a free cover limit up to £120,000. Under this level, there's no need for individual medical underwriting and, if selected, we’ll take a 'once only' approach. In the majority of cases, future increases in benefit won't be subject to further underwriting.
If your policy cover levels need to be higher than £120,000, then we’ll do all we can to make the underwriting process stress-free. Here are some more aspects of our underwriting process that we think are important:
- Efficiency. We use specialist staff – trained in communication skills and equipped with medical knowledge – to capture essential information in telephone interviews. By using the Teleinterview technique, employees don't have to complete any complicated forms, which helps puts them at ease. All calls are carried out in confidence, and this can significantly reduce cases of non-disclosure.
- Simplicity. If your employees prefer not to have a Teleinterview we can use a medical declaration to capture information about their work, health, lifestyle and medical history. This helps us make medical underwriting decisions faster.
- Accountability. We provide a prompt, clear and accountable underwriting service, which is designed so that it creates minimum disruption for your business.
- Practicality. We’ll give your employees cover from day one. We provide up to 90 days temporary cover during the underwriting process, excluding pre-existing conditions.
