People who want to enjoy the long-term health benefits of a regular exercise regime and a more nutritious diet need to adopt a positive mental attitude, an expert has said.
Anne Finnemore, founder of Gettingyouthere.co.uk, stated that people need to visualise what they want to achieve in the future, as that would help avoid any negative thoughts that can sometimes prevent a person maintaining a new salubrious lifestyle.
She explained it was important that individuals choose an exercise that they enjoyed, as this would mean they are more likely to stick to it.
"If you do exercise because you love it and you have the mental attitude of wanting to do it - you'll carry on doing it and it'll give you a buzz," Ms Finnemore commented.
Earlier this month, the expert said that if people do suffer a setback, where there fail to exercise for a few days, then it was important not to dwell on it and restart the regime as soon as possible.
