Self-administration: Using Eyedrops

Eyedrops deliver a drug directly to the area where its effect is needed. Always wash your hands before using the drops and do not touch the eye or the skin around it with the dropper. If you wear contact lenses, check with your doctor or pharmacist before using eyedrops because some preparations may be unsuitable.

Instilling the drops

Tilt your head backwards and draw the lower lid away from the affected eye. Drop the eyedrops on to the inside of your lower lid. Try to avoid blinking immediately.
