Self-administration: Using Skin Patches

Adhesive skin patches are a simple and effective way to deliver drugs, such as HRT, gradually into the body. Drugs that are administered in this way are released slowly and steadily and are absorbed directly into the bloodstream.

Using skin patches

Patches should be placed on dry, unbroken skin. Patches for HRT are usually placed on the lower abdomen, lower back, buttocks, or thigh.
