New Head of International PMI

Published: 07 Jul 2015

Martin Sellars has been appointed as the new Head of International PMI at Aviva.

Martin joined Aviva Health in 2010 and has played a key role in developing the iPMI business since 2013. Initially with a strategic remit, he was responsible for identifying the key iPMI opportunities and developing a roadmap for execution. Before his appointment as Head of International PMI, he was responsible for leading Aviva Health’s International Transformation Programme to realise the opportunities and during this time the international portfolio saw substantial growth.

Prior to joining Aviva, Martin enjoyed a successful career as a management consultant focussed on the Financial Services industry. His consulting engagements spanned the full spectrum from strategy to implementation, with active involvement in the ongoing management of the practice and sale of new work.

Since his teenage years, Martin has had a strong draw to the sea which has had a fundamental impact on his life to date. It was a key factor in his decision to study at Southampton University where he graduated with a First Class Masters in Mathematics. In turn it led to a place in the British Olympic Sailing Team with a full-time focus on winning a medal at the Athens Olympics.

Commenting on his appointment, Martin Sellars says: “This is a very exciting time for Aviva and I am delighted to take on the role of leading Aviva Health’s IPMI business in this important phase of growth.”

Martin now lives in the New Forest with his wife and two daughters and continues to enjoy the outdoors and sporting challenges when not working.
