Which of our customers can use MyHealthCounts?

There are now two versions of MyHealthCounts:

The following FAQs are for the individual version of MyHealthCounts (For information regarding MyHealthCounts for Business visit here).

Which individual policy holders is MyHealthCounts available to?
  • All new Healthier Solutions policyholders - any MyHealthCounts discount only applies during second and subsequent policy years.
  • All individual policyholders who have renewed onto an individual PMI policy from 15th July 2009.
Is the individual version of MyHealthCounts free of charge?

Yes, the individual version of MyHealthCounts is free - policyholders are under no obligation to take part.

How would you describe the individual version of MyHealthCounts in a sentence?

With MyHealthCounts our customers can get a better understanding of their health and could get a discount on their health insurance of up to 15%.

What will MyHealthCounts offer your individual clients?

MyHealthCounts is for customers who :-

  • Wish to get an understanding of their current state of health.
  • Wish to have advice and action plans on how to manage or improve on their current state of health.
  • Wish to be rewarded for being in good health or improving their health by receiving a MyHealthCounts discount on their premium.
How does the individual version of MyHealthCounts work?

"Take just 10 – 15 minutes to fill in our online health check (Q Score), and you could get up to 15% off your renewal premium plus find out how healthy you actually are."

  • Complete an online health check at the start of your policy year, to get your current health score, known as a Q Score.
  • On receiving your Q Score you will be offered the chance to book a pharmacy health check at your local pharmacy to ratify your measurements (cholesterol, weight, blood glucose, blood-pressure and resting heart rate) which are directly uploaded by the pharmacy to your Q Score.
  • Access to the interactive e-coach to provide personalised information on how to improve your health, advice, suggest programmes ie. gyms, activity monitor programmes.
  • Get immediate access to a range of discounts and membership offers.
  • Be able to see online how much your ‘MyHealthCounts discount’ could be now and in the future.
  • Keep your Q Score updated throughout the year, at least once between months six-nine to qualify for the MyHealthCounts discount.
  • At renewal you will receive a discount of up to 15% through a premium reduction.
What is a ‘Q’ score?

The Q Score shows customers how their health compares to 100 people of the same age, gender and race. The person at the front of the queue (number 1) will need immediate medical attention, whilst the person at the back is enjoying excellent health (number 100).

Filling in the blanks with Pharmacy health checks

All customers registering with MyHealthCounts will be offered the opportunity to sign up for a pharmacy health check (some will be discounted), to check their health measurements like cholesterol, weight, blood glucose, blood pressure and resting heart rate. The pharmacy health screen information is automatically updated to the customers Q Score – giving them a ‘true’ picture of their health.

How long, after their renewal, does your client have to register and use the individual version of MyHealthCounts?

Your clients can register at any time, however in order to get their MyHealthCounts discount they’ll need to have logged a ‘qualifying’ Q Score prior to their next renewal. Customers who have signed up to the offer will receive a reminder when they need to submit their ‘qualifying Q score’ (between the start of month six and the end of month nine of their policy year).

Do all individual policyholders have to take part?

It’s completely optional however customers could get up to 15% discount on their next PMI renewal for taking part. If a customer wants to measure and look after their health and then be rewarded for doing so they should take part in MyHealthCounts. If any policyholder decides not to they are not penalised in any way and their policy is unaffected.

What MyHealthCounts discount will my individual clients receive?

The discount structure is based on the customers Q score. When they register to use MyHealthCounts they can obtain a Q Score. Before their next renewal (between the start of month six and the end of month 9) they will need to obtain another Q Score. This Q Score will be the basis of their discount i.e. how healthy they are at this point in time. To receive the discount all (qualifying) policy members must have registered for MyHealthCounts and completed their Q Score prior to the next renewal.

How will I know if my individual client has received their discount?

Your clients renewal documents (the financial statement) will show what discount each individual member on a policy has received. In the event of any query please contact us – in the normal manner.

My client’s renewal documents do not show a discount, why is this?

There could various reasons for this, please refer to the terms and conditions in the first instance. If you have any queries after this, please call one of our Healthcare Bureau consultants on 0845 3000 649.

What if my client makes a claim during the year, will this affect their individual MyHealthCounts discount?

No. The claim doesn’t have any bearing on the discount they receive.

Will the medical information provided by my client be used to asses any claim?

We will not use the data that customers provide for MyHealthCounts in assessing any claim that they make.
