MyHealthCounts
This is our guide to MyHealthCounts and the process that your clients should go through so they can get a better understanding of their health, access useful health information and the opportunity to receive up to 15% off their next years premium.
Step 1 - Sign up to MyHealthCounts
Approximately 10 days after the inception date of a new Health Solutions policy, or the renewal of their current policy, your client will receive details of MyHealthCounts including their unique ‘Get started’ code.
They should then visit www.aviva.co.uk/myhealthcounts and enter the MHC code. They will need their policy number and member number to log-in for the first time.
Step 2 - Get a ‘Q’ score
Your client will then be invited to obtain a Q Score. The Q Score shows how your health compares to 100 people the same age, race and gender as you. To obtain the Q Score they will be required to provide their health information on the MyHealthCounts website, such as:
- Age, height and weight
- Health measurements such as blood pressure, cholesterol level and blood glucose
- Lifestyle, drinking, eating, exercise and smoking habits
- Medical history and hereditary / family conditions
It only takes around 10 minutes to complete all the Q Score details required.
Step 3 - Go for pharmacy check
After they have completed their first Q Score your client will then have the option to book a pharmacy health check. They can do this at a nationwide network of pharmacies that are part of the MyHealthCounts programme. We will also be offering an introductory discount to the price of these - each pharmacy check will be charged at the introductory rate of £9.99 per policy member (saving of £20.01 on the usual cost). Following this offer, the price of the pharmacy checks will increase to our standard rate of £30.
The pharmacy health check is a great way to check the key health measurements. So if a customer is not sure of their blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol level and heart rate, height and weight, we’d recommend they get the check completed. Afterwards their health information will automatically be updated on the MyHealthCounts website. This will then update their Q Score.
Step 4 - Use the online health coach and MyHealthCounts advice and offers
After they have completed a Q Score, your clients will have access to their personal online health coach, who will provide them with hints, tips and advice on how to stay healthy and improve any areas of concern.
Customers can keep checking their progress by updating their health information throughout the year, to see how their Q Score changes.
They will also be able to access offers such as discounted family days out.
Step 5 - Complete their pre-renewal Q Score
Before their next policy renewal, those that have signed-up to MyHealthCounts will be required to complete another Q Score. This will be the Q Score that we base their next years premium on. We’ll send them a reminder email to do this. The discounts are as follow:
| Q Score | 0-40 | 41-50 | 51-60 | 61-70 | 71-80 | 81-100 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Premium discount | 0% | 5% | 7.5% | 10% | 12.5% | 15% |
Plus the MyHealthCounts discount is completely separate to the no claim discount which means that your client’s will save even if they need to make a claim.
Notes:
We will only use the customers health information to calculate their MyHealthCounts discount. We won’t use the data for individual underwriting or claims purposes.
MyHealthCounts is available to customers / policy holders over 18 years.
