Barriers you’ll come up against
When you begin to speak to any client about PMI they will have their own opinion of the need and provision of the product. In order to help you answer these queries we have outlined a few common misconceptions below.
“I can get the help I need on the NHS”
The NHS can provide the care you need, but the waiting times for some procedures can be long. This is of particular relevance if you are self-employed because the longer you are unable to work, or work at reduced capacity, the more your business suffers. With PMI, you have access to high-quality care, when and where you need it.
“It’s too expensive. I’ve got bigger priorities”
Due to the modular nature of many PMI products on the market, cover can be chosen to suit the need and budget of a wide range of clients, whether an individual or company. The provision of PMI will mean that waiting time for treaStment is reduced.
Without PMI, if you do become ill or injured, you have the option of waiting for NHS treatment (which can affect your ability to work), or paying for private treatment yourself (which can run into thousands).
