New director appointment at Norwich Union Insurance

Norwich Union has announced that Graham Boffey is to become thenew corporate partnerships director, replacing Derek Plummer who isstepping down.

Boffey, who is currently the company's director of claimssourcing and supply, will take on his new role on August 1.

Plummer, who corporate partnerships director at the time of theCGNU merger in 2000, will support Boffey in his new role untilPlummer leaves the company in September.

Boffey said he is looking forward to taking up the corporatepartnerships mantle and developing Norwich Union Insurance’srelationships with some of the UK's top-name brands.

He added: "While we still have some tough challenges, we alsohave some hugely exciting opportunities and my aim is to build onwhat Derek has already achieved to take the business forward inline with Norwich Union's strategy and goals."

Plummer, who split his time as corporate partnerships directorbetween the company's Norwich and Perth offices, said he hasenjoyed his rewarding and challenging time at Norwich Union.

"I've seen the company grow from its original mutual status tobecome one of the top PLCs in the UK and I feel privileged to havebeen part of the management team during that transition."
