- Junior winner to lead players onto the pitch for the last game of the season
Are you passionate about the players, mad about the matches and carried away by Carrow Road? If so could you be Aviva’s Norwich City Fan of the Year?
The insurer and main club sponsor is seeking fanatic followers for their annual competition to recognise the devotion and dedication of a true Norwich City fan. And for the first time this year it is seeking a junior (under 16-years and above eight years old) as well as an adult winner.
That lucky young winner will lead the players out onto the pitch with the match ball on the last game of the season against Aston Villa on Sunday 13 May 2012.
On the look-out for suitable candidates will be ex City striker, Iwan Roberts, and former Norwich and England International, Darren Eadie*, who are included on the judging panel.
Iwan Roberts said: “A football club is only as good as its fans, that’s why Norwich City is a great club because of its fantastic supporters. Judging who is best is going to be a really tough job, but I’m looking forward to hearing all those stories of dedication to the cause.”
Other prizes include a VIP match day experience at the last game of the season, a personalised NCFC football shirt, a pre-match meal and trophy presentation in the Gunn Club for the winner and a guest, plus a pre-season visit to Norwich City’s training ground to watch the first team train.
Paul Lambert, manager of Norwich City, said the fans had been phenomenal since the day he arrived at the club; “They travel up and down the country in massive numbers and the atmosphere they create, both home and away, gives the players a huge lift every time they step out onto the pitch - and no more so than this season when we’ve come up against some top class sides – the fans are always there giving us the support we need.”
This is the fourth successive year that Aviva has run the competition with the support of Norwich City and the Community Sports Foundation.

Every submitted nomination also gets entered into a prize draw to win a pair of tickets to a NCFC match next season.
The competition launches today and closes on March 30 2012, the judging panel will select 6 finalists (3 adult and 3 junior) and public voting opens on April 16 2012 and closes on April 27 2012.
