- Aviva introduces portal offering widest breadth of risk placement
Aviva, the UK’s largest insurer, has launched Marketplace, its new online portal offering brokers access to more than 40 products catering for those harder to place risks in niche and specialist markets.
Marketplace will provide brokers with a one-stop shop providing online product information and access to quote and buy facilities covering specialist and niche products from both Aviva and wholesale broker partners. In addition, there will be access to London market broking to cater for anything outside of Aviva’s underwriting appetite.
Feedback from brokers reveals around 70% of brokers use wholesaler schemes arrangements¹ and the same number are open to using a single point of access for niche and specialist business.
Phil Bayles, interim intermediary and partnerships director at Aviva, said: “As part of our aspiration to be number 1 for brokers we continue to look at ways to provide brokers with access to expertise, faster decision-making and innovative trading solutions.
“Brokers tell us that placing more difficult risks can be time-consuming and that they want to feel confident that they are recommending quality products to their clients.
“We have taken this feedback into account and created a portal that offers niche and specialist insurance from Aviva with access to reputable wholesalers and placement facilities.
“Complementing our successful etrading platform, Fast Trade, we believe Marketplace offers a great new way to trade, delivering a total one-stop shop for niche and specialist business and we’ll be looking to add more products to it over the coming months.”
