Upkar joins from UBS Global Asset Management where he was asenior fixed income quantitative analyst. He has been within theUBS group for over a decade, starting in 1992 at BrinsonPartners.
His role at Morley involves using a range of quantitativemodelling and risk analysis techniques to support the fixed incomeinvestment process. He will also draw upon resource available inother investment teams at Morley, in particular the balanced funds,strategy, economics and risk management teams.
Commenting on Upkar's appointment, Ceris Williams, head of fixedincome at Morley Fund Management, said: "Inthis new role at Morley, Upkar will reinforce the fixed incomeinvestment process through the development of our quantitativemodelling techniques. This appointment follows the recent arrival of Caroline Brown ashead of credit analysis. Caroline joined from Credit Suisse AssetManagement where she had been head of european credit researchsince 2002.
