Morley boosts fixed income business

Morley Fund Management, one of Europe’s largest fundmanagers, has appointed Holly Grainger as a credit analyst in itsfixed income team. Holly joins Morley in November and will reportto Tim Barker who was appointed as head of credit Analysis inJune. She brings eight years industry experience and joins fromF&C where she was a credit analyst. Previously, she was thelead pan-European equities analyst at Baring Asset Management forseven years.

Morley has also boosted its fixed income business withappointments to two new roles: Steve Barker as fixed incomeproduct specialist and Malika Gulabani as client director. Theyboth joined Morley this summer and report to Paul Waters, head ofclient services.

Trained as an actuary and later a fund manager, Steve brings 14years experience with him including senior investment consultancyroles at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Gissings and, most recently, SBJBenefit Consultants, where he was head of the investmentpractice.

Malika brings eight years of investment industry experience andjoins from Schroders Investment Management, where she worked forfour years as a fixed income and money market fund manager. Herinvestment career began in fixed income sales at Williams deBroe.

Steve is responsible for ensuring that Morley’s fixed incomeproduct range is refined and expanded to reflect the changingdemands of clients and the wider marketplace. Malika will assumeresponsibility for relationships with Morley’s cash andliquidity product clients, working in a newly created clientservice team dedicated to the public sector.

Earlier this year, Morley was appointed to manage a fixed incomemandate on behalf of Kelda Group Pension Plan. The mandate ismanaged by Mark Gull, corporate bond fund manager, and is investedin corporate bonds and gilts. Last October, Morley added a newhigh performance corporate bond fund to its pooled pension fundrange, The MPPL High Alpha Corporate Bond Fund, which launched on1 October 2004.

With over £134 billion in funds under management, Morley managesmore than £69 billion in fixed income assets and has more than 40fixed income investment professionals. Morley’s Credit teammanages more than £23 billion in asset.
