RAC wins trio of awards for fleet excellence

RAC has won three top awards for its expertisein keeping fleet drivers safely out on the road – making itthe fifth year running that RAC has scooped "excellence" titles inthis field.

The awards, from trade titles Fleet Week and FleetManagement, recognised RAC as the readers’ favourite foraccident and risk management of fleet vehicles, and for itssoftware – the Tranman fleet management system.

Since RAC’s acquisition by Aviva last March, its accidentmanagement team has expanded by two thirds to cope with a host ofnew clients from Norwich Union Insurance, part of Aviva, as well asother new business.

Risk management was a new category this year. Recognising this areaas increasingly important for the fleet industry, RAC hastransformed itself from primarily a driver-training provider to aholistic fleet risk management supplier. RAC now offers everythingfrom an off-the-shelf policy document for smaller fleets to bespokeconsultancy, along with a full programme of driver education andtraining.

RAC Software Solutions won plaudits for its highly regarded fleetmanagement software system Tranman. The division recently signed a£6m contract with the MOD and was chosen to manage the vehiclefleet assembled to police the G8 summit in Scotland lastJuly.
