The Slips and Trips Management Pack contains acomprehensive set of documents designed to enable a property owneror manager to put in place a proactive risk management programme. These include working documents for use by the property owner.
John Whittaker, property underwriter at Norwich Union, comments:“Research shows that 50% of all reported accidents involvingthe public are caused by slips, trips and falls* and the associatedcost resulting from compensation claims and down-time to businessesare considerable.
“We have developed this pack toprovide property owning clients with practical support to help themmanage their business exposure to slip and trip accidents. It isnot often appreciated that in many cases these accidents arepreventable and the pack provides the guidance and tools needed toeducate and equip the property owner to reduce incidents, and atthe same time save costs.”
The launch of the pack coincides with theHealth and Safety Executive’s Watch Your Stepcampaign. Launched in October 2005, it aims to raise awareness ofhow slip and trip accidents can be avoided in the workplace andproposes solutions to deal with the problem.
