RAC introduces online inspected vehicle programme

Article date: 26 April 2007

RAC has launched a new service that allows dealers to post their RAC inspected vehicles online - allowing them to reach a prospective 2 million customers a month.*

Every RAC inspected vehicle comes with a written RAC report on its condition, covering an extensive number of physical checks that ensures it is mechanically and structurally sound. The buyer has the reassurance that every vehicle viewed has had a history and mileage check.

An independent study** found that by signing up to the RAC inspected vehicle programme, a dealership could benefit from a 25% increase in sales and 33% increase in gross profit.

Above all, the study discovered that a dealer's reputation can be enhanced through the association with RAC, encouraging customers to search dealer-listed vehicles for peace of mind.

Daniel Burgess, director of automotive for HPI, said: "The RAC Inspected vehicle programme is proven to be successful and helps to protect the dealer's profit margins.

"All the confidence that customers receive from the programme on the dealer's forecourt is now available online. The strong RAC brand provides a real seal of approval on used cars.

"Selling cars doesn't get easier than this; the additional service means that car buyers can search dealers' listed vehicles online at any time, from anywhere.
