Morley appoints head of UK pensions business development

Morley1, Aviva's UK-based asset management business, has appointed Gerard Hutchings as head of UK pensions business development.

Gerard will be responsible for accelerating the growth of Morley's institutional business - primarily UK pension funds.

Reporting to Richard Warne, head of UK institutional business development, Gerard will work closely with the Consultant Relations and Client Relationship Management teams to maintain Morley's industry position as a thought leader and solutions provider.

Morley's head of UK institutional business development, Richard Warne said: "The pensions segment is a key area for the future of Aviva Investors where our ability to deliver thoughtful and tailored solutions will enable us to grow our share of a market that currently exceeds £1,000 billion in assets. In addition, pension fund Trustees are increasingly seeking more complex investment solutions to meet regulatory burdens and accounting changes.

"Gerard is an experienced and pragmatic sales leader with a disciplined and focused approach to business development. He brings to the team a strong understanding of how to manage complex solutions focused sales opportunities."

Prior to joining Morley, Gerard has led sales teams selling professional services at Hewlett Packard, Compaq and Cap Gemini Ernst and Young. He holds a PHD in Computer Science from The University of Southampton.
