Norwich Union relaunches equity release DVD and guide

Article date: 5 June 2008

Norwich Union is launching an improved equity release guide and DVD. The guide and DVD make it easier for potential customers to understand equity release and decide if it is right for them.

The guide has been increased in size from an A5 to an A4 landscape format. The larger format has allowed the "at a glance" sectioned to be placed prominently in the centre pages, and highlights the benefits and considerations of taking out a lifetime mortgage or home reversion plan. The DVD provides more information on what equity release is and how it works.

Both the guide and DVD encourage family members to be part of the decisionmaking process and attend meetings with advisers.

Anthony Rafferty, head of post retirement at Norwich Union, said: "The DVD has proved immensely popular since its launch last year and following customer feedback we have further improved our offering, which is unique to the marketplace.

"Equity release is becoming an increasingly popular product for those approaching retirement. The DVD and guide both ensure that consumers understand the implications of taking out a lifetime mortgage or home reversion plan."
