ADP and HPI join forces

  • Market leaders team up to enhance service offering

ADP Dealer Services UK has enlisted the services of HPI to enhance its dealer management system (DMS) - Autoline. This new partnership offer dealers an integrated HPI Check, including a check against HPI's extensive National Mileage Register (NMR) containing over 125 million records, in addition to a Cap and Glass valuation. This new service will allow dealers to check the history of a vehicle, verify the mileage and obtain an accurate valuation - all at the touch of a button.

Adam Palmer, UK marketing manager of ADP Dealer Services UK, comments: "As the market-leading DMS, used by over 45% of the franchised dealer network, we are constantly striving to improve and enhance the service we provide. As such, for areas in which we do not specialise, we aim to work with experts in that particular field. It was therefore a natural choice to for us to come together with HPI, who is another market leader, to enable us to offer the best solution to our customers. By combining our expertise with HPI, we are able to offer dealers a comprehensive service that allows them to perform their daily operations quickly and efficiently through one integrated system."

The vehicle information supplied by HPI is automatically backfilled into the Autoline system - removing the need for dealers to manually create vehicle records and providing instant access to accurate information.

Daniel Burgess, director of automotive at HPI, comments: "This new partnership with ADP Dealer Services offers an even higher level of protection for dealers using Autoline. Fraudulent activity is still a major concern within the industry and we need to ensure we remain vigilant. Car cloning is on the rise as is the ‘clocking' of vehicles, with over one in 12 mileages checked now showing a discrepancy. We also know that the credit crunch is making an impact, with 30 out of 100 cars we check still subject to a finance agreement. This improved DMS reassures dealers they are armed with the best possible information to support a profitable sale and protect their dealership. We look forward to working closely with ADP Dealer Services to further enhance the quality of the Autoline DMS for dealers."

About HPI
Originally established in 1938, HPI Limited is a primary source of vehicle information for the UK motor industry and motoring consumer, which since August 2004 has been owned by Norwich Union. HPI encompasses both the HPI database of all UK road registered vehicle descriptions and histories, and the National Mileage Register which holds in excess of 125 million mileage readings.

Together, HPI and NMR represent the UK's largest vehicle information source, combining and interpreting data from government agencies, industry bodies, private organisations, the police and the general public. Registering with HPI helps companies to protect their financial interests in motor vehicles and a wide range of other mobile assets. HPI Checks give purchasers instant confirmation of whether vehicles are correctly described, known to be subject to outstanding finance or serious accident damage, or recorded as stolen or "clocked".
