Well-managed organisations are being encouraged to find out if their health and safety is as good as they think it might be.
Aviva Risk Management Solutions (ARMS) wants businesses and other organisations to consider whether they could achieve the internationally recognised standard for occupational safety and health - BS OHSAS 18001.
For a limited period, ARMS is offering free telephone time with one of its qualified BS OHSAS 18001 auditor/lead auditor consultants. The consultant will explain the benefits of gaining BS OHSAS 18001 and most importantly, will help those getting in touch decide whether the standard is something they could realistically achieve.
"It's a telephone call worth making," said Kevin Chicken, training and consultancy manager at ARMS. "Well-managed organisations may think their health and safety is up to scratch, but can they prove it? Has it ever been assessed by independent experts?
"BS OHSAS 18001 is a simple and effective way for organisations to demonstrate their commitment to health and safety management. More organisations than ever before are being asked to provide evidence of a positive approach to health and safety in order to win contracts and new business. BS OHSAS 18001 is recognised worldwide."
Nine members of ARMS training and consultancy team are now qualified BS OHSAS 18001 auditors or lead auditors. This means they can quickly weigh-up whether organisations can meet the standard that is set.
If following an initial assessment it seems likely that the standard can be achieved, ARMS can also offer all the support needed to help organisations through the final British Standards Institution (BSI) audit.
