Norwich Union will be represented on this year's world Rallycalendar on 23-26 November by Maurice Jellie (Divisional Manager,NU Life) and Peter Jolly (E-Commerce Manager, NU Life). They willcompete in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 5 and be supported by 160 IFAswho will be attending the event courtesy of Norwich Union.
The Network Q Rally of Great Britain, this year being held inCardiff, is the UK's largest sporting spectator event, with almost200,000 paying spectators, a television audience of 134 million in71 countries (more than any other rally) and over 6,000 volunteerofficials.
The competition represents the pinnacle of Rally sport in the UKwith relatively few crews getting the opportunity to competeagainst the best in the world. There will be 165 competitors in theevent ranging from full time professional manufacturer drivers suchas Colin McRae and Richard Burns to enthusiastic amateurs.
Maurice and Peter have qualified for an InternationalCompetition Licence to enable them to compete in the Network QRally GB after many years of successfully competing in Rallyingthroughout the UK.
Maurice has previously been Lancashire and Cheshire RallyChampion and Longton and District Rally Champion as well assuccessfully competing in most of the National and InternationalRallies in the UK. He has previously competed in the Network QHistoric section when he finished second in class. Peter hasco-driven to victory in the Tour of Lincs Rally twice as well asmany other events in the South of England.
Their involvement in the 2000 Network Q has attracted a lot ofattention with around 160 Independent Financial Advisers beingtreated to hospitality by John Enos, Norwich Union's Director ofIFA Sales Operations, on the 4 days of the event in November.
This is the only round of the World Rally Championship to beheld in the UK and as such has attracted entries from as far afieldas Peru and Japan with only 12 crews from the UK in the top 50entries!
