  • Read any information packs your pension companies send you.
  • If you're with us and you haven't received your pack yet, call us on 0800 068 4076. Even if you haven't got one of our pension funds, you can request our pack if you want to.
  • If you have a pension fund with us, we'll ask you to fill in a personal information form. It's important that you complete this form fully because it helps us to give you a personalised quote, and can mean you get a higher retirement income.
  • Talk to a financial adviser to discuss your retirement options and what's best for you.
  • Visit our online retirement centre for more information about what we can offer you.
  • If want to defer your retirement, let your pension companies know. If you tell them when you expect to retire, they'll contact you closer to the time to ask if you need any help.

  • You should have received requirement quotes by now, and gathered quite a bit of information about your options.
  • If you have a pension fund with us and want to talk to us about it, call 0800 068 4076.
  • If you are not one of our customers but want a quote from us, use our Pension Annuity Calculator or give us a call on 0808 271 6646.
  • It's a good idea to speak to a financial adviser before deciding anything. You can find an adviser near you at www.unbiased.co.uk.
  • Once you've decided what you need in retirement, shop around to make sure you get the best rates and the right product for you. The amount of income you get in retirement will vary between different companies, so you could get more by shopping around.
  • You can usually take up to 25% of your pension fund as a tax-free cash lump sum. You can do whatever you like with this money, so talk to an adviser about your options.
  • If you have certain health or lifestyle factors, you could get a higher retirement income. If your circumstances have changed recently, it's worth asking if you can get more.
  • Finally, choose your retirement income and apply. Then you can relax and look forward to your retirement.
