Serial fly-tipper sent to jail and banned from driving

A serial fly-tipper has been jailed for 30 months after posing as a legitimate business.

The man tricked businesses and households into giving him their waste, several tonnes of which was dumped at various locations across North Somerset and Bristol, the Environment Agency stated.

Paul Victor Bryant, from Hartcliffe, Bristol, operated as Man With Van and Lorry and illegally dumped industrial and household waste for four years.

He admitted nine offences under the Environmental Protection Act 1990. As well as his prison sentence, Bryant was given a ten-year Anti-Social Behaviour Order and banned from driving for three years.

Andrew Palfrey, from the Environment Agency, stated: "This case shows how enviro-crime such as fly-tipping is on the increase and becoming more organised, with offenders trying everything they can to disguise their identity and avoid getting caught."

In a separate case, illegal waste site operator Michael Enright, aged 38, at Dudley Central Trading Estate, Shaw Road, Dudley, was ordered to pay over £11,000 for depositing waste at the premises without a Waste Management Licence.ADNFCR-2134-ID-19155764-ADNFCR
