CCTV 'should be addressed by businesses'

A salon in Chester has been targeted by burglars for the second time in six months, it has been reported.

The Chester Standard reported that around £600 of equipment and products were stolen from the Hair Craft Studio in Boughton.

Brenda Harrison, owner of the salon, told the newspaper that she will be stepping up security after the burglars came across the roof and smashed an upstairs window.

She said she thought the last break-in was a one-off and she advised other businesses to keep expensive equipment - such as hair straighteners - out of sight.

Sergeant Mandy Shaw, of Cheshire Police, told the publication: "Business owners should make sure premises are locked and secure and there should be a thorough review of security with security light and CCTV installed."
