Firms in Manchester have been advised to swot up on their knowledge of counter-terrorism, security and business continuity measures at a forthcoming event. The Security - Whatever the Challenge conference is set to go ahead in the conurbation on March 24th 2010 and will include a comprehensive seminar programme featuring speakers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and the Bank of England.
Officials at the British Security and Investigation Association (BSIA) helped to organise the summit and James Kelly, the organisation's chief executive, said the event is not to be missed.
He added that the measures discussed in Manchester will help businesses to "protect their premises, staff and customers".
"With businesses facing the problem of various acts of crimes and threats, security is of paramount importance," added Stuart Pizzey MBE of GMP.
As well as the BSIA and GMP, the Manchester City Centre Crime Prevention Panel, the Greater Manchester Chamber and Manchester City Council all help to plan the talks.
Last year's event featured speakers from the Counter Terrorism Unit and the Economic Crime Section at GMP.
