Catering students at Northbrook College in Worthing have shown their commitment to reducing slips, trips and falls in the workplace. The mature students on the NVQ Food Preparation and Cooking course work in one of the kitchens at the educational institution.
In order to show their support for the Health and Safety Executive's (HSE's) Shattered Lives campaign, they explained the steps which they take on a daily basis to cut the number of these incidents occurring.
These measures include mopping up any spills, moving food deliveries out of the path of workers and removing any other potential slipping or tripping hazards.
Dave Rothery, HSE's principal inspector for Sussex, said: "These students have shown that making improvements doesnt need to cost the earth."
The college is the latest in a line of businesses, organisations and individuals to give their backing to the Shattered Lives campaign.
Other supporters include healthcare students at Northumbria University and Ye Old Trip to Jerusalem - which is the oldest inn in Britain.
If you have or would like to have a professional career in health and safety then gaining the NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health will demonstrate your commitment.
