What the course covers

On successful completion of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the principal legislation applicable to the responsibilities of both the client and the contracting party
  • Appreciate developments in the interpretation of legal duties resulting from decided cases
  • Recognise the key stages in the letting and execution of contracts with particular reference to the provision of work method statements and the subsequent management of safe systems of work
  • Understand and manage the key requirements imposed under the Construction Design and Management Regulations 1994
  • Effectively monitor and audit the safe conduct of contractors under client control and to impose sanctions against contract companies who are not achieving their stated health and safety performance

Who the course is for?

  • Project Managers and Engineers, Senior or Middle Management with responsibilities for selecting and/or awarding contracts. Managers responsible for ensuring the safe conduct of contracts.
