How our With-Profit Fund has performed
The graph below shows how returns from an Aviva With-Profit bond compared to an average savings account and the FTSE 100.
Please note: these figures only show what’s happened in the past and don’t indicate how the fund will perform in the future. It’s also worth bearing in mind that savings accounts come with a smaller risk of losing your money than with-profits investments, any interest you earn is guaranteed, and it’s easier to access your money through them.
The graph above shows how returns from our with-profits bond compared with an average savings account and the FTSE100. The values include all product charges and are net of basic rate tax. It also illustrates some of key differences which are explained below.
Aviva With-Profit bond - investment volatility is reduced through smoothing the returns. The graph also shows that the value of a with-profits investment is not guaranteed and may rise or fall depending on investment conditions. It is possible that you may not get back the amount invested.
It is based on an original investment of £10,000 in our Portfolio Bond on the 1 April 1993 and includes any early exit charges or market value reductions. The graph shows the returns through to the 1 April 2012.
Average savings account - carries a smaller risk of losing your money than with-profits investments. In addition, any interest you earn is guaranteed and it's easy to access money in a savings account. The graph shows the return from a £10,000 investment in an average 90 day notice savings account, net of income tax for basic rate taxpayers over the period 1 April 1993 to 1 April 2012.
