We did a study of 343 employees who used Aviva’s parental leave policy to see how equal parental leave offerings impact fathers.
Here’s what we found:
- There was a 23% increase in the number of new dads taking equal parental leave in 2019 vs 2018
- At Aviva, our own new dads have taken an average of 22 weeks’ paternity leave since our Equal Parental Leave policy was introduced, vs an average of two weeks before
- 97% of new dads at Aviva UK took more than two weeks, compared to the national average of 31% of eligible dads
- 32% of our new dads work flexibly when they return to work
