Latest COVID-19 update: claims
Group Income Protection
Employees with the COVID-19 infection who are unable to work due to incapacity past the deferred period on their policy are covered, subject to the terms and conditions of their policy.
Group Critical Illness
Although COVID-19 isn’t a covered condition on critical illness policies, if complications as a result of the virus lead to other insured criteria being met, the claim would be paid subject to the terms and conditions of the specific policy.
Death claims arising from the COVID-19 infection would be paid, subject to the usual policy terms and conditions. Where a claim is made under an Aviva Group Life policy as a result of COVID-19, the event limit detailed in the policy conditions will apply.
