Latest COVID-19 update (Jan 2021)

Due to the current increase in COVID-19 cases, the NHS is focusing its treatment on the most urgent cases. This means many non-urgent procedures are being cancelled or delayed where the demand for beds and intensive care unit (ICU) beds is very high.

Private hospitals remain predominantly open but are also being impacted by the winter surge with some less urgent treatment being delayed.  This is caused either by restrictions on ICU support that would usually be provided by the NHS, or where the private hospital is supporting the NHS by making additional capacity available.

Whilst there is a lot of uncertainty around COVID-19 and how this impacts claims demand and treatment availability, the Private Medical Industry continues to work together to protect customer safety and enable access to the services that they need.

We would encourage customers to contact us if you would like to make a claim, as the majority of services are available and we will be able to place you in the care of an appropriate clinician.

If you’re struggling financially due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and need help, we can defer your monthly payment for up to three months. Please remember that you’ll need to pay back the premium when the deferral period ends.
