If you recommend us to a friend or family member and they buy a health insurance policy from us over the phone, we'll give you £100 worth of M&S vouchers as a thank you. We know that little things can make a difference so that's why we'll also give your friend or family member £100 worth of M&S vouchers too.

You can recommend up to 3 friends each time you complete the online form, so the more people you recommend, and go on to purchase health insurance from Aviva, the more vouchers you could get!

To get your vouchers:

  • Read the Terms and conditions
  • Complete the form below with your details and the email addresses of your friends or family members and click submit
  • Your friend or family will receive an email inviting them to call in and quote a code
  • Once your friend or family member has purchased a policy with us over the phone, vouchers will be sent out after 2 months.

What is Recommend a friend?

Our Recommend a friend scheme provides our existing customers with the opportunity to recommend Aviva's Private Health Insurance to their friends and family members. If the friend or family member then goes on to buy Private Health Insurance via the phone number provided and quoting the code given on the email they get from Aviva, both of you will receive £100 worth of M&S vouchers.

How does the scheme work?

As an existing Aviva customer, you can refer your friends or family members to us by completing the relevant information found on the existing customer web pages. Via a simple form you can provide your details along with the name (s) and email address (s) of the friends you wish us to contact.

When they receive the email from us, they can review the benefits of our Healthier Solutions cover and offers.

If your friend or family member calls in and purchases a policy on the number given, quoting the code provided on the email we send them, we will record this as a sale resulting from your recommendation.

Aviva reserve the right to end this incentive at any time, as outlined in the Terms & Conditions.

How will I get my vouchers?

Once your friend/family member has purchased a Private Health Insurance policy, and it has been validated, your vouchers will be sent out 2 months after your friends policy activation date. Their vouchers will be sent at this time too.

Does my friend have to purchase the product that I recommend for me to get my vouchers?

Your friend or family member may decide to purchase a different product or service from the one that you recommended. The vouchers are only payable on private health insurance purchased over the phone using the number provided, quoting the code given on the referral email.

What happens if I don't receive my vouchers?

If you have waited more than 3 months following the start date of your friend or family member's policy and you have not received your vouchers, you can raise an enquiry with the Recommend a friend team.

How many friends can I recommend?

You are able to recommend three friends initially, however you can complete the form again and recommend more at any time.

Do I need permission from my friend?

Yes, you need to make sure that you have your friends permission to recommend them.

My friend never got the email. What went wrong?

There is a chance that it may have landed in their spam folder. We take every possible step to ensure that this is not the case but cant guarantee that this doesn't occur. Please ask your friend to check their spam folder. If the email isn't there, you will need to start the process from the beginning.

My friend made a purchase, but I never received my vouchers. What went wrong?

If you believe that your friend or family member has made a purchase but you haven't received your vouchers, please contact our recommend a friend team. Remember, vouchers are sent out 2 months after your friend or family member's policy activation date.

What are the tax implications of gaining the vouchers?

Vouchers that you obtain from this scheme could be interpreted as a taxable event and you should consult a tax advisor in order to clarify this point.

How is my personal data stored? How secure is it?

Your data is transferred from your web browser to our referral system by means of an encrypted data format (SSL). Our data warehouse is protected from the internet by a set of physical firewalls including intrusion detection. Your data is stored within our data warehouse in an encrypted format and is only made available to the system administrators and our marketing teams. Your data will not be transferred outside of the European Union.

Terms and conditions
  • In order to qualify for this promotion, existing AVIVA customers ("Policyholders") must complete our online Recommend a Friend form and friends ("New Customers") must obtain a private health insurance quote via the phone quoting the code given on the email.
  • Policyholders will receive £100 worth of M&S vouchers for each New Customer they recommend, that take out a new Private Health Insurance policy direct from Aviva.
  • Policyholders and New Customers must adhere to the terms and conditions of this offer.
  • You can recommend up to 3 New Customers on each online form completed, however by providing the email address of New Customers, Policyholders must confirm that they have the consent of the New Customer to provide that email address so that we may contact them in conjunction with this marketing promotion.
  • All New Customers will be sent an email using the contact details that have been provided to us in relation to this marketing promotion. The Policyholders recommending the New Customers will be identified in the subject matter of the email to let the New Customer know who initiated the sending of the of the email to them. We will not use any personal information for any other marketing promotions or any other purpose.
  • Policyholders renewing their private health insurance policy will not be regarded as New Customers.
  • M&S vouchers will be posted to the Policyholder and the New Customer 2 months after the New Customers policy activation date.
  • Both the Policyholder and New Customers policy must be must still be in place and paid to date in order to be eligible.
  • The AVIVA Recommend a Friend scheme is open to all Policyholders who are UK residents over 18.
  • This offer is only available in conjunction with Healthier Solution private health insurance.
  • This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer being run by AVIVA or any of its affiliate partners, or in conjunction with any employee benefit schemes.
  • Vouchers are non-transferrable and no cash alternative will be offered.
  • In the unlikely event that M&S vouchers become unavailable, a suitable substitute of equal or higher value will be supplied instead.
  • AVIVA reserves the right to withdraw the offer at any time, however friends recommended prior to the offer being withdrawn will still be eligible to take part.
  • AVIVA may decline to quote in some circumstances.
  • AVIVA reserves the right to decline the award of the M&S vouchers where it is believed any misuse of the scheme to be taking place.
  • Where a New Customer is recommended by more than one friend, it is the first recommendation that will be considered for payment of a reward.
  • Referrals not submitted in accordance with these terms and conditions will be disqualified.
