Medios Renewal

It’s that time of year again and clients will be receiving their Medios renewal packs shortly. We’ll be starting to send these out next week, so your clients should receive them by week commencing 19 November 2018. To give you a heads up of your clients’ renewal details, you will be sent this flyer by post or alternatively, you will be sent these details via email, giving you all the details before your clients’ packs are received.

Key updates for your clients’ renewals

We want to make our communications as clear as possible, so your clients know exactly what their cover includes. With this in mind, we’ve revised our terms and conditions - not solely for the sake of clarity, but also to reflect enhancements both to our clinical strategy and the way we use technology to make life simpler for our customers. Below are some key updates; for full details of all the terms and conditions changes, please see below links to the relevant literature, which your clients will receive by post.

Aviva Digital GP

We’re removing the 24 hour GP helpline and introducing Aviva Digital GP, which will be accessible via a smartphone app and will be available to insured clients aged 16 and over. This service will provide access to 5 digital GP consultations, with a choice of GP based on gender and language spoken. Clients will also be able to request repeat NHS prescriptions at the rate they pay on the NHS, with free delivery and chat to a GP or pharmacy through the app. Details of how to access this service will be provided to clients up to six weeks after their renewal date.

Treatment by providers that are not recognised by us

We’re working with our providers to ensure that all our customers’ treatment is clinically suitable, safe and appropriate, and in line with current clinical practice. To ensure customers are treated by providers that meet our requirements for quality and value, we will no longer pay for treatment with providers who are not recognised by us. This means that if a client uses a provider (which includes practitioners, specialists, other healthcare professionals, hospitals, facilities or other treatment centres) that we do not recognise, we will not pay for that provider’s fees/charges.
