Reminder of Healthier Solutions T&C Changes

Back in October 2016, we communicated some important changes to the Terms and Conditions of our Healthier Solutions policies.

These changes would have applied to your client’s renewals and new client policies written on or after 1 December 2016, so we thought we’d use this opportunity to remind you.

These changes were a demonstration of our commitment to clients in a forever evolving market. We constantly review our products to ensure they continue to meet your clients' needs, as well as being as clear and straightforward as possible.

Networks

We have developed a number of networks for diagnosis of, or treatment for, specified medical conditions. A network is a specified group of facilities and/or specialists or other practitioners that are the only providers we recognise to provide the treatment required for a particular condition.

Therefore, if your clients require treatment for a condition or suspected condition that falls within one of our networks, we will only pay for that treatment if it is carried out at a facility and/or under the care of a specialist (or other practioner) recognised by us as part of that network.

Networks apply to out-patient treatment as well as in-patient and day-patient treatment.

Other Key Changes

These are just some of the key changes to Healthier Solutions policies. For full details of all the changes please read the policy update flyer

Consultation fees - if your client has an eligible consultation with a specialist or other practitioner who is ‘fee approved’ then we will pay in full. However, if they have an eligible consultation with a specialist/practitioner who isn't fee approved we will only pay up to the limits we pay our fee approved providers.

Hospital charges - we no longer automatically recognise all NHS hospitals under Healthier Solutions policies. This means that if we don't have a network in place for your clients' treatment and they want to use an NHS hospital, then they will need to check with us to ensure it is recognised.
