Aviva Pride turns 10!
Spend energy being yourself, not hiding it
Aviva Pride is our Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Trans* and allies network (LGBT+). From starting small in York in 2007, to now across several countries. Our aim is to create a work environment that respects, welcomes and supports all LGBT+ professionals.
10 years later we’re…
Still the only insurer in the top 100 of the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index, the UK’s leading benchmark for LGBT inclusive employers – and have been for the last 10 years
A founding member of TeamPride – promoting equality for LGBT fans and players in sport. Also we gave away more than 20,000 pairs of rainbow laces to customers, staff and fans of our partnered sports teams
Part of the LGBT Insurance Network
Plus, last year we launched ‘Be Out as an Ally’ to encourage all colleagues to show their support. Now we have more than 5,000 allies wearing our Aviva Pride lanyards.

What our members think:
“It’s fantastic that Aviva Pride is celebrating its 10th birthday. And through Aviva Pride, I felt able to be ‘out’ at work. I don’t have to hide my weekend plans with my partner, and I can have photos of my family on my desk – like everyone else does.
Because I can be myself, I can focus my energy on doing a great job for you. At Aviva Pride, we celebrate differences within our community. You’ll see us at Pride marches in Bristol, Dublin, Glasgow, London, Norwich, Sheffield and York”.
Lauren Peel, Chair of Aviva Pride
“I’m so proud that Aviva is celebrating the 10th birthday of its LGBT+ network. In this time, Aviva Pride members have worked with our product development and customer service teams to make our products more inclusive for the LGBT+ community.
We have more to do, particularly in updating systems to meet the needs of our trans* customers, and we are working through these challenges. I look forward to the next ten years of Aviva Pride and celebrating with our staff at Pride events across the UK."
