Every one of our customers is different, just as every one of our people brings something to the table. And we have a real ambition to unlock the fantastic potential of our people, to help them perform at their best for our customers, every day.
At Aviva, we embrace difference. Developing employee led groups or ‘Communities’ is all about empowering our people to drive inclusion throughout our organisation – and Aviva Pride, our LGBT network has been the trailblazer.
Within Aviva we have over 5,000 visible allies, and 1,000 Aviva Pride members across 6 of the countries we operate in (and this numbers is growing). We’ve given out 30,000 pairs of TeamPride rainbow laces in the last year and we expect to give out many more over the next few weeks. Plus, we’re still the only insurer in the Stonewall Top 100 Workplace Equality Index – the UK’s leading benchmark for LGBT inclusive employers. We take our position within the Industry very seriously and that is why we champion #OUTsurance.
What is OUTsurance?
#OUTsurance is about being OUT for each other, shaping our organisation and Industry to truly reflect the diversity of our customers. Because being OUT, is a distinctive commitment to be an Ally for all our customers, employees and communities. We make this commitment by standing up to hate, discrimination and bias of all types and encouraging people to spend their energy being themselves, not hiding it.
Over the next few weeks we’ll be raising awareness on our social media and through our pride parade attendances with messages about all of our Aviva Communities; and highlighting why this Pride season should be a celebration for everyone.
Our ongoing commitment
Aviva is committed to leading the industry for inclusion, and making all our sites a place where everyone, including LGBT people can succeed. This can be seen by the great role models and allies we have at every level in our company including - Angela Darlington, Group Chief Risk Officer, and Mark Wilson, Group CEO, who was named in Outstanding ‘s top 10 Ally Executives.
