Choose what’s just right for you

Retirement help is at hand

We want to support you the best we can throughout your retirement journey — from the planning stages to taking your pension, and everything in between.

That’s why we’ve put lots of things in place for you to choose from, including free guidance and paid for financial advice. You can pick the right option (or even options) for you, depending on the level of support you need at the time.

Aviva Financial Advice can create a plan just for you

Everyone’s situation is different. So it can be reassuring to have an expert looking into your finances and recommend what’s right for you.

An adviser from the Aviva Financial Advice Team can guide you on all your financial planning options. If advice is right for you, the adviser will fully explain the charges before you decide to go ahead with financial advice.

Any recommendations advisers make will be for products from Aviva and other carefully selected partners.

What’s financial guidance?

You can get free guidance from the government:

MoneyHelper is an independent service, set up by the government to help people make the most of their money. They offer free and impartial guidance on managing your money and pensions.

Visit MoneyHelper or call 0800 011 3797

Pension Wise from MoneyHelper is a free, government-backed service offering clear, impartial and specialist guidance on your retirement options. If you’re aged 50 or over, this service is available to you. Visit Pension Wise or call 0800 138 3944 for full details of the service.

It may be worth getting in touch with your current pension provider to see if they can help you too.

Why take financial guidance?

Government-backed services and pension providers’ staff are well-trained and have often worked elsewhere in the financial services industry.

And because it's free, you can take guidance as a ‘no regrets’ introduction to any issues you’ll deal with when making decisions about your pension planning. A guidance conversation may highlight things you've not considered.

However, keep in mind, guidance services will not offer you financial advice. That is, they won’t tell you what the best course of action is for you.

If that’s what you’re looking for, you might consider paying for financial advice instead.
