HPI 'only check to rely on' says Auto Car magazine

Article date: 10 April 2006

HPI has been voted the 'best on the market' in a survey ofvehicle history check services by Auto Car magazine. In a test offour vehicle checking brands, HPI came out on top as the only oneto score a full five stars.

Auto Car trialled the vehicle checkers using a Golf GT TDi thathad had a plate change, was a category C write-off and had amileage discrepancy. HPI was the only one to identify all threefaults and provide detailed information on all discrepancies, earning it full marks.

Joe Doyle, director of HPI says: "This is a fantastic result forHPI, which was described in the Auto Car piece as 'hard to fault'and 'the only check to rely on'. This endorsement proves ourongoing commitment to helping consumers buy with peace of mind.HPI's depth of information with an emphasis on delivering a highlevel of customer service is a winning combination."

Auto Car's article also highlights the importance of used carbuyers conducting a quality vehicle history check. Any unsuspectingconsumer buying the Golf featured in the test would be puttingtheir safety at risk. Plate changes are often used by criminals tohide a dodgy past and a category C write-off, while a mileagediscrepancy puts the safety and condition of the vehicle in seriousdoubt.

Joe Doyle concludes: "With an HPI Check buyers are armed withvital information to help them make a sound buying decision. With afive star rating from Auto Car, HPI will continue to be the firstchoice for used car buyers keen to keep the criminals at bay andbuy with confidence."
