The Aviva Master Trust Trustee Board governs the AMT and is responsible for everything, from member communications, to which investments are made available to members.
Each Trustee Director is an established leader, with many years of experience in a variety of roles within the UK pensions industry.
Elizabeth Renshaw-Ames
Chair of Trustees
Elizabeth is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is the current non-executive Chair of Barnett Waddingham LLP’s Management Board and an Independent NED at Sarasin and Partners LLP. She has nearly 30 years’ experience in pensions, including being the former Trustee CEO of the HSBC UK pension scheme and a Senior Partner at Mercer.
Andy Purvis
Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee
Andy has over 30 years’ experience in pensions and 15 years in asset management and is currently CEO of MT Capital Management. In the past Andy has served on the boards and executive committees of AXA Sun Life, AXA Wealth, and Architas. He is a barrister and was formerly Chief Risk Officer at AXA Wealth and Architas where he oversaw risk management, regulatory compliance, governance and legal.
Jonathan Parker
Chair of Investments Committee
Jonathan is a recognised pensions investment specialist with over 20 years’ experience and is currently Head of Defined Contribution and Financial Wellbeing at UK financial consultancy Redington. His experience includes a period as Head of Investment Proposition for Zurich Corporate Savings. His main goal is to ensure that the Aviva Master Trust continues to deliver great investment outcomes and value for members.
Alan Whalley
Chair of the Member Experience and Communications Committee
Alan was a consulting actuary for 35 years, primarily with Willis Towers Watson, and held many senior roles. His final executive role was as Mercer’s UK CEO, where Pension Insight named him among the top 50 most influential people in pensions in the UK. He currently chairs Wealth at Work - a workplace financial education, guidance and advice service – and is a member of the Advisory Council and the Board of PMI. He is an accredited professional trustee.
Anna Eagles
Trustee Director
Anna is a professional trustee and is The Law Debenture Pension Trust Corporation plc’s representative on our Trustee Board. She is an accredited member of the Association of Professional Pension Trustees and a qualified actuary. She represents Law Debenture on governance bodies for contract-based arrangements, including an IGC responsible for a SIPP arrangement, as well as on trust arrangements for DC, DB, and hybrid schemes of up to £10bn. Before joining Law Debenture, she was a pensions consultant at WTW for 22 years.
